What is an Oil-water separator? Its classification and structure principle?
Oil water separator (Ships and offshore platforms): It is an electrical equipment that further dehydrates crude oil through the electric field strength (mixture of the two) formed by direct current or alternating current, so that it can reach qualified oil purification with water content below 0.5%.
Classification: vertical and horizontal
Structural principle: Crude oil enters the pre-lowering chamber from the oil inlet pipe, settles sediment and some free water, enters the oil inlet tank on the left and right sides of the pre-lowering chamber, and then enters the water phase space below the oil-water interface through the oil distribution holes on the oil inlet tank. Residual free water was removed by water elution. Using the buoyancy of water, the direction of the oil flow after washing is perpendicular to the electrode surface, and it passes through the upper electric field space of the oil-water interface from bottom to top. Under the action of the high-voltage electric field, the water particles collide, coalesce and combine, and the water is separated by the oil-water density difference. It settles to the bottom of the dehydrator, flows into the water collection chamber, and is discharged through drainage. After dehydration, the purified oil is collected in the oil collecting pipe at the top of the dehydrator and discharged through the oil outlet pipe.
